Gaffa Portal:
Task Creation Guide
Welcome to the Gaffa Portal. This guide provides a clear, step-by-step walkthroughs for different tasks within the portal.
Keeping it Gaffa: A Quick Guide to Friendly Tasks
Gaffa is built to be a welcoming, easy-to-use space for every single resident. While you have complete freedom over the tasks you build, the way you ask questions makes a massive difference in how many people actually complete them.
Short, simple, and sweet
Short, simple sentences are much easier to digest, especially for residents reading on small phone screens, those with dyslexia, or users whose first language isn't English.
Keep the tone warm
A quick "Thanks for checking this!" or "We appreciate your help" in a question description goes a long way in making the app feel like a community tool rather than a strict compliance checklist.
Try not to assume
Not everyone is a DIY expert or tech whiz. If you are asking a resident to check something on their boiler or electricity meter, tell them exactly where to look in plain English.
Neutral is best
Try not to assume someone's family structure or pronouns in your question phrasing.
